Madam Vice President, die Freude ist ganz auf meiner Seite. Ich muss allerdings gestehen, dass mir die kühle und trockene Luft hier in der Hauptstadt wohl nicht mehr so gut bekommt wie einst. Kaum ein paar Stunden aus der Heimat fort und gleich merke ich es am ganzen Körper. Naja, man wird ja auch nicht jünger! Und bei Ihnen?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

ich begrüße Sie alle recht herzlich im East Room des White House. Bitte nehmen Sie Platz.

Ich habe Sie heute hier her eingeladen, weil es ein angenehmes Privileg des Präsidenten ist, verdiente Bürgerinnen und Bürger dieser Nation für ihre Anstrengungen um das Wohl des Landes und seiner Menschen, auszuzeichnen.
Wie einige meiner Amtsvorgänger vor mir, nehme ich diese Möglichkeit sehr gerne wahr.

Ich möchte daher heute vier Persönlichkeiten des öffentlichen Lebens auszeichnen.

Namentlich begrüße ich hierzu: President Ulysses Knight, President Lisa Shore, Vice President Benita Martinique und Mayor Jared Lee.

Ich darf Sie bitten, zu mir nach vorne zu kommen.

Es wird nun die Auszeichnung verkündet und der Begründungstext verlesen.

Währenddessen händige ich die Auszeichnung aus. Alle Geehrten haben anschließend die Möglichkeit, Worte an das Auditorium zu richten.

Wir beginnen mit President Ulysses Knight.

In recent years, Ulysses Knight has put his motivation, drive and commitment into the design and execution of various political offices within the United States. The highlight of his political career was undoubtedly his presidency as the 63rd President of the United States. But even after his term in the White House, he did not retire into political retirement, but is still where political life needs him. In particular, as a multiple governor of his home state of Laurentiana and as a recurring speaker of the local General Court, he keeps the state running. His many years of work as a senator in the United States Congress and his terms as chamber president also testify to his unconditional willingness to serve this country. He deserves our respect for that. For this, he deserves our proud nation’s highest civilian award.

Congratulations, Mr. President.

Als nächstes würdigen wir President Lisa Shore.

Former President Lisa Shore dedicates her life to serving the Astorian people. Before and after her term as the 62nd President, she was and is never tired of putting herself at the service of the nation and doing her part to keep politics running. By serving as Senator for her home state of Freeland, she shows that she is willing to maintain political discourse and bring her personal opinion of our future into the debates. Her willingness to repeatedly assume the office of Senate President ensures that one of the most important pillars of our separation of powers continues to function, especially in times of empty offices. This country owes her a deep debt of gratitude for this. And for that she rightly receives the Presidential Honor Star.

As Vice President of the United States, Bineta Martinique was passionate about advocating for the rights and equality of the LGBTQIA minority. Even after her term in office, she dedicated herself to this public relations work. When the Montgomery Administration in the White House began to massively restrict the rights of the LGBTQIA group, Bineta Martinique organized protest marches and demonstrations. Thanks to her, the importance of equality within our society remains on the agenda. She manages to remind us again and again that we are all human. Regardless of our skin color, religion or sexuality. More people are needed, like Vice President Martinique. To give her struggle the necessary recognition, we awarded her the Presidential Award for Cultural, Scientific and Athletic Achievements.

Sporting commitment as part of the cultural diversity of this proud nation is not sufficiently appreciated. The hearts of our fellow human beings live for sporting competition, mutual cooperation, the pursuit of victory and the trophy. Not only does sport promote health, it also gives the nation a break from the dreary daily routine and worries. The sporting culture of the United States lives through men like Mayor Jared Lee. As one of the constants in Astorian football, he stands up like no other for preserving and actively shaping this core element of cultural diversity. For this reason, he deserves the Presidential Award for Cultural, Scientific and Athletic Achievements for his efforts.
