    Das Amendment VIII - [Oath of Office] wurde vom Kongress verabschiedet und ist nun zu ratifizieren.

    Federal Oath of Office Constitutional Amendmend Ratification Bill


    Section 1 - Ratification of an Amendment to the United States Constitution
    Der State of Astoria ratifiziert den folgenden Zusatz zur Verfassung der Vereinigten Staaten:

    Amendment VIII - [Oath of Office]
    (1) Der Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten soll bei Amtsantritt folgenden Eid leisten:


    “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
    Eine religiöse Beteuerung ist zulässig.


    (2) Der Vizepräsident, die Mitglieder des Kongresses sowie alle anderen Amtsträger des Bundes haben bei Amtsantritt folgenden Eid zu leisten:


    “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter.”
    Eine religiöse Beteuerung ist zulässig.


    Section 2 - Coming into Force
    Dieses Gesetz tritt entsprechend der verfassungsmäßigen Bestimmungen in Kraft.
