The General Assembly is the legislative body of the Free State of Alcantara.

This bicameral parliament consists of the House of Delegates, with 52 seats, which is entirely elected by the eligible voters every four months.

The second chamber is the Council of Convents, in which each county of the Free State is represented by its sheriff with one vote.
