State of the Union Legislative Obligations Termination Halting (SLOTH) Amendment Act

    Eighty-Seventh Congress of the United States of Astor

    Be it enacted by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the United States of Astor in Congress assembled:

    An Act

    to amend the State of the Union Report Act to restore the constitutional rights and responsibilities of the U.S. Congress.


    SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    Dieses Bundesgesetz soll als „State of the Union Legislative Obligations Termination Halting (SLOTH) Amendment Act“ zitiert werden.

    SECTION 2. AMENDING THE STATE OF THE UNION REPORT ACT.

    Section 3 des State of the Union Report Act erhält folgende neue Fassung:

    Section 3: Sanctions

    Lässt der Präsident die in Sec. 2 (2) genannten Monate verstreichen, geben der Sprecher des Repräsentantenhauses und der amtierende Senatspräsident im Namen ihrer Kammer öffentlich bekannt, dass der Präsident seine verfassungsrechtliche Berichtspflicht verletzt hat und dafür gerügt wird. Diese Rüge ist auch in die Protokolle der jeweiligen Kammer aufzunehmen und dem Präsidenten zu übermitteln.

    SECTION 3. FINAL PROVISION.

    (1) Dieses Bundesgesetz tritt nach den verfassungsrechtlichen Vorschriften in Kraft.

    (2) Bisherige Sanktionen nach Section 3 des State of the Union Report Act in der Fassung vor Inkrafttreten dieses Gesetzes sind mit Inkrafttreten dieses Gesetzes beendet.
