The question is on the passage of the Bill (RE: S.J.Res. 2021-048 Terms of Office Constitutional Amendment Resolution). The question is to pass the motion.

Mrs. SHORE of Freeland introduced the following Joint Resolution.

Proposing an amendment to the increase the terms of office for the President, Vice President, Senate, and House of Representatives of the United States.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of Astor in Congress assembled, that the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by popular vote of three-fourths of the several States, but not before April 30, 2022:

Amendment __ [Terms of Office]

(1) Der Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten soll zusammen mit dem Vizepräsidenten auf einen Zeitraum von acht Monaten gewählt werden.

(2) Die Mitglieder des Repräsentantenhauses sollen auf einen Zeitraum von vier Monaten gewählt werden.

(3) Die Senatoren sollen auf einen Zeitraum von zwölf Monaten gewählt werden.

(4) Dieses Amendment bezieht sich ausschließlich auf gewählte Mandatare, deren Wahl nach Inkrafttreten dieses Amendments eingeleitet worden ist.
