IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

Mrs. SHORE introduced the following bill:

A BILL

to amend the State of the Union Report Act.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of Astor in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

(1) Dieses Bundesgesetz soll als „State of the Union Address Simplification Act“ zitiert werden.

SECTION 2. AMENDING THE STATE OF THE UNION REPORT ACT.

(1) Alle Änderungen in dieser Section beziehen sich auf den State of the Union Report Act.

(2) Sec. 2 Ssec. 3 wird durch folgendes ersetzt:

„(3) Der Kongress kann mittels gemeinsamen Beschlusses beider Kammern (Joint Resolution) dem Präsidenten das Rederecht erteilen; ein solcher Beschluss hat das Datum der Rede zu beinhalten. Der Präsident ist nach Erteilung des Rederechts darüber in Kenntnis zu setzen.“

(3) Ssec. 4 und 5 sind gestrichen.

SECTION 3. FINAL PROVISIONS.

(1) Dieses Bundesgesetz tritt mit seiner Kundmachung in Kraft.
