    Honorable Senators!


    I lay, according to Sec. 3 SSec. 1 of the Senate Advice and Consent Act, before the Senate the Nomination of


    Mr. John Norman Nicolas to be Chief Justice to the Supreme Court


    made by the President of the United States, according to Chapter III Sec. 1 Ssc. 2 Federal Judiciary Act.


    A Hearing has to be conducted on this nomination. I call upon the nominee to make the following oath

    I do solemnly swear that I will tell the truth and nothing but the truth without any additions or reductions. (So help me God.)
